Honey Cornstarch Dog Treat Icing

Back to Recipes

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (*rice or potato flour works well if your dog is sensitive to corn)
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 3-5 drops of desired food coloring (*I used beet juice here)

Whisk ingredients together thoroughly in a bowl. A thick, paste-like mixture should form.

Use a pastry brush to apply to cooled treats.

*Refrigerate iced treats to avoid spoilage.

If you don't want to use chemical food colorings, try adding a coloring from an all-natural source such as raspberry juice for red, turmeric for yellow, or blueberry for blue.
