Wheat-Free Baking Flour Combinations

If your wheat-free baking flour combination doesn't have the right taste and consistency, your recipe can fail. When it comes to cakes and cookies, the flour is everything!

Try one of these proven baking flour combinations to make sure your baked goods turn out wonderful.

For 1 cup of all-purpose baking flour substitute the following:
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup tapioca starch/flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch or potato starch
Or:
  • 1/4 cup soy flour
  • 1/4 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/2 cup brown rice flour

*Also, remember that Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum is what's going to give your baked goods the elasticity that they need, otherwise they will be dry and crumbly.

So, add 1/2 tsp of guar or xanthan gum per cup of wheat-free flour!
